There is nothing like having examples on hand for parent/teacher/student conferences.  Using SmartMusic and the SmartMusic Grade Book, You are all set with examples AND they are organized so you can get them in a flash.  Pull them up, listen and discuss.

If SmartMusic isn't an option for your program, think about FileMaker.  This data base program is cross-platform, fairly easy to learn, powerful and able to organize digital files like audio recordings and video recordings.

Not having to dig through a bunch of CD and tapes is very helpful when you have short conferences.  If you can't organize yourself with one of these tools, you have big problems.  Being organized helps you look good and focus on the task at hand.
